The Garvey Group Announces Los Angeles Acquisition
The Garvey Group, LLC located in the heart of the Midwest, is pleased to announce its acquisition of the large format printing division of Schawk, Inc. a prominent brand management firm. Our new facility will be re-branded as The Garvey Group West large format facility, LLC and will remain in Los Angeles.

The Garvey Group’s operations in Niles, Ill., specialize in printing point-of-purchase displays, packaging and box wraps, while the company’s Milwaukee, Wis. and Sturtevant, Wis. plants focus on digital and custom commercial printing, marketing collateral and distribution services. The Garvey Group West produces out-of-home signage for major clients including some of the biggest brand names in the film industry, the electronics world and the retail sector.

The Garvey Group Goes Big Again with Supersize Colter & Peterson Cutter
In 2007, The Garvey Group purchased a record-size 110˝ rebuilt Lawson paper cutter from Colter & Peterson (C&P), the largest independent distributor of paper cutters and paper handling equipment in North America. With business expanding and a need for extra throughput, Garvey recently turned to C&P again and installed a new 110˝ Saber XXL paper cutter. Garvey Awarded at Premier Print Awards 2013
The Garvey Group has been awarded two 2013 Premier Print Awards for outstanding achievement in the production of posters and Point-Of Purchase Materials.
The Premier Print Awards is the graphic arts industry’s largest and most prestigious worldwide printing competition, hosted by Printing Industries of America, which recognizes those responsible for the creation and production of outstanding print communications.
Having examined thousands of entries from printing and graphic arts firms around the world, the judges awarded Garvey two Certificates of Merit for their entries, Apple Vacations and Nabisco Holiday House. Less than 33% of the total entries in this year’s competition won an award.
The Premier Print Awards is the printing industry’s oldest and largest worldwide graphic arts competition. In its 64th year, the competition recognizes those responsible for the creation and production of superior print communications. The event promotes excellence in print and rewards companies and individuals who produce the best in print media.

Garvey Wins Best of Category "Point of Purchase" at Graphics Excellence Awards 2013
With more than 1,000 entries from printing and graphic arts firms from Wisconsin, Illinois and Indiana, The Garvey Group won Best of Category for POP display and Award of Excellence for Large-Format Printing.
The winning pieces include a Nabisco Holiday House in-store retail Point-of-Purchase Display and Dos Equis Beer Standee.
A panel of judges with extensive experience in printing and print production was brought in to examine the work. Each entry was judged on its own merit in a category with similar pieces.
The judging criteria included registration, crossovers, clarity and neatness, sharpness of halftones and line drawings, richness and tonal qualities of color, paper and ink selection, ink coverage, difficulty of printing, effective contrast or softness, finishing, bindery and overall visual impact.
